The House of Fans [Keeper of the Angels]

the question is: how do you create a home, a shelter and a place of safety for one who is constantly moving, unsettled and trying to protect himself, his identity and location?

the answer: the idea of a virtual reality?

The House of Fans inspires new ideas regarding the metaphor of fanning [of light, the opening of something from a focal point of connection, with changing and folding layers].

I am enthusiastic about my house of fans spanning in multiple layers of material, from a central spine [the tower], creating instensity and darkness in the overlapping of these layers.

I would like to follow these ideas of light, dark and shadow.

This image inspired me to start thinking about the idea of shelter and safety, in conjunction with the delicacy and fragility [as you can sense in this image].

I noticed you asked Sean about how to create a feather/fan effect in sketchup. It really isn't too hard, it requires the array tool. Array allows you to copy and past an element multiple times systematically (AutoCAD has the array tool).
When using the move or rotate (i think scale will work too) tool, press Ctrl.
After deciding the distance, rotation you need either by mouse or by keyboard dimensions, type the ammount of copies you want into the keyboard followed by an x, such like (5x).

I'm not completely sure what you need exactly, but I know there are much more easier and more effective ways to create this effect in 3Ds Max.

heres a link to a tutorial

I hope this helps
